Last semester some print students were approached with a special project opportunity; Fresno State has a new President, and for his upcoming investiture he wanted to give the VIP guests some custom artwork! We met with him, he told us that he really wanted the artwork to represent Fresno - mainly the people and the agriculture - and a few of us set out to make some sketches. We met again and he officially chose the designs he wanted to give as gifts (he was so pleased with our ideas that everyone who participated got a design chosen!) so the next step was to finalize sketches. After that, we separated the colors into layers and my print professor transferred each layer to plates via photo lithography. We've been printing hundreds of little litho artworks since mid-August. I've included the original sketches, my finished design, and progress pics of how printing is going!
